Terms of Service

Alakilo is operated by Malama Risk Management ("we", "us"). It is software for monitoring traffic conditions and sending messages to dynamic message signs ("the Service"). By using the Service, your organization ("Customer") agrees to these terms.

1. Early-stage service

The Service is in its initial customer phase and is provided AS IS, without warranties of any kind. We do not offer a service-level agreement (SLA), uptime guarantee, or service credits at this time. We work hard to keep it running, but you should not rely on it as a sole or safety-critical control for any roadway operation.

2. Accounts

Accounts are set up manually by Malama Risk Management. There is no public self-serve signup. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for what the users in your organization do with the Service.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • dispatch messages that endanger highway safety or mislead drivers;
  • violate applicable transportation or traffic-control law;
  • interfere with the lawful operation of public works or another organization's signs;
  • attempt to access data or accounts that do not belong to your organization.

You are solely responsible for the content and timing of the messages your organization dispatches.

4. Your data

The data you put into the Service — including your boards, routes, configuration, and message history — belongs to your organization. We use it only to run the Service for you. We do not sell it. You can ask us to export or delete your data; see the Privacy Policy for details.

5. Changes to the Service

Because the Service is actively being built, features may change, be added, or be removed. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes, but we may make changes without prior notice when needed for security, reliability, or legal reasons.

6. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including losses from incorrect traffic data, delayed or failed dispatches, or sign outages. Anything not covered here is governed by your separate written agreement with Malama Risk Management, which controls if there is a conflict.
